FINANCIAL PLANNING AND RELATED EXPERIENCE

Carol graduated from Melbourne University with majors in psychology and history.   After completing graduate diploma studies in business, she joined the fledgling financial planning profession in the early 1980’s.

Carol has extensive experience in financial planning and financial markets, including more than 20 years as a financial planner within major stockbroking and chartered accounting firms, and 8 years in financial services management roles.

In her early career, Carol was involved in research and client service, and later undertook a business development role with a major life assurance company.  She spent 5 years in management with a national network of life insurance and superannuation advisers before her decision to move into personal financial planning.

Carol is able to successfully utilise her broad financial markets knowledge and lengthy experience in financial planning to assist individuals, family groups, trustees of self-managed superannuation funds, small corporates and endowment funds to plan their finances.  Her advice considers asset allocation, investment planning and structures, superannuation and retirement planning, estate planning and taxation.

PERSONAL PROFILE

Carol was born in Scotland and immigrated to Australia with her family in the 1960’s.

She enjoys the visual and performing arts, and is a member of the National Gallery of Victoria, the Australian Ballet Society and a Friend of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Carol is a representative of Ashford Financial Planning Pty Ltd which is an Australian Financial Services Licencee (AFS Licence No 325404).

FINANCIAL PLANNING AND RELATED EXPERIENCE

John graduated in the field of commerce with majors in economics and accountancy.

He has extensive experience in financial planning and financial markets including over 20 years in the financial planning industry as both a financial planner and manager, 10 years in the banking industry (including 5 years in financial planning) and 3 years with the Commonwealth Department of Treasury.

In the Commonwealth Treasury, John undertook research, analysis and policy advice in relation to financial market de-regulation and taxation reform.

John was involved in operational and strategic planning in the banking sector together with money market research, analysis and advice.

John has been able to successfully utilise his broad financial markets knowledge and experience to assist individuals, family groups, trustees of self-managed superannuation funds and endowment funds plan their finances, particularly in the areas of asset allocation, investment planning and structures, superannuation and retirement planning, estate planning and taxation.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

John is single and enjoys cricket, Australian Rules Football, theatre, music, art and domestic and international travel.  He is a member of the National Gallery of Victoria and Chairman’s Circle, The Arts Centre.

John is a Vice President and the Honourary Treasurer of the Victorian Branch, Royal Overseas League.

John is also a Trustee of the Serra Club of Melbourne, Serra International.
